Innovation Review on Generative AI for Automotive

AI has many applications in automotive, from the obvious self-driving and ADAS applications, to smart cities and V2x. But this specific type of Generative AI, of the ChatGPT variety, has unique new applications. Properly applied AI can quickly make new winners and losers, and the auto industry won’t be an exception. Carmakers that leverage this AI early, and use it to serve their customers will have an advantage over those that don’t.

Porsche is already using AI to recommend car configurations to customers, and Mercedes MBUX is helping customers interact with the car. Others partner with Amazon Alexa, Nvidia Drive Concierge, and even the “user ownership” boogeyman, Google. Either way, the race to leverage Conversational AI has already started.
