Emile Roux, Executive director at SDC Montreal Centre-ville tells us about the future projects for Montreal in the aftermath of sanitary crisis

A few words from...

Hello, my name is Emile Roux. I am the executive director at Montreal Centre-ville.

We are the downtown Montreal business improvement association with almost 900 kilometers of bike paths. Montreal is part of the most bike friendly top 20 cities in the word.

Do you have any future projects for Montreal?

After the lockdown the number of cyclists on cycle paths has increased by 30%.

This is the reason why the city of Montreal has decided to had 300 kilometers of new cycle and pedestrians paths.

In the downtown Montreal, we decided to create sanitary bikes stations to safely welcome visitors arriving with a bike.

Sanitary bikes stations

Called Rally, this station offers all the service people need to park, clean and even repair their bike.

Since the launching of this station we welcomed hundreds of people arriving with a bike in downtown Montreal. We contribute and they contribute to the economic and commercial revival of the downtown Montreal.

Thanks a lot for this great input, Emile !
Stay tuned for more insights!
