This event will discuss the role that e-scooters, e-bikes and other small electric vehicles could play in the city’s transport mix now and in the future.\nLondoners are slowly starting to head back to the workplace, but with Transport for London discouraging commuters from using public transport, some people may be considering new ways to travel.\nSome will decide to switch to walking or cycling but others might also return to their cars, unpicking the progress made on air quality and congestion in recent years.\nMicro-electric vehicles such as e-bikes and e-scooters have also emerged in recent years, and are already part of the fabric of the US and European street scene. E-scooters are currently illegal on the UK’s roads and pavements, but the government has just given transport authorities and councils permission to start pilots.\nSocially distant, quick and low carbon, is now an opportunity for London to embrace these vehicles?\nWhat can we learn from the experience of other countries?
